The Cockroach and the Waiter a Motivational Story

Motivational stories are everywhere; we just need the right eye to see. Motivation is the need of todays and it does not matter from where they are coming. Motivation charges you up to deserve more, to try more, to work more and to manage more.

One such incident occurred to me in the restaurant where I was having a coffee sip. I drag the interpretation of my own from that event which may be funny and horrific for someone. I am not a motivational speaker or keynote speaker but I have a habit of bringing motivation from the activities that go around me.

The Sunday morning of winters is so amazing to have. Such sunshine is hard to describe in words. I was sitting in the corner of the restraint with a coffee in my hand admiring the beauty outside from the window. Suddenly, I heard screaming “hey its cockroach, AAA!”The chaos created in the seat occupied by the bunch of school girls. It was fun watching the scene, to be honest. The cockroach then decided to conquer another shoulder by flying his wings in the air. The other girl shouted, “It’s on me help!” A waiter comes to the rescue to throw that monster out of the restaurant. But the cockroach has other intentions he again jumped on the waiter this time. A waiter did not lose his calm and stood steadfast. He quietly took the cockroach by his hands and threw it out.

That was the incident which created chaos in the restaurant for at least two to three minutes or so. I enjoyed that scenery a lot but did not realise the importance and depth of the incident. Later in the night on my bed, I thought hard and deeply replayed the incident, again and again, to bring out something positive.

Why did that waiter not to panic? I keep wondering, but obvious answer coming to me is that he was a man obviously. But that cannot be true; even I faced the same fear as the girl if that cockroach would have been on me.

It is about the gender that let the waiter handle the situation peacefully. It is the attitude towards the problem. When we face hardships we do not think usually how to handle it? Instead, we create chaos and panic with the feeling that we cannot face it at all. The thing that impressed me of course by the waiter is the calm approach to deal with problems. He was cool as ice even when the cockroach is on his shirt. His silent approach not only solved the problem and let his gain round of applause from the people sitting around in the restaurant. As far as those little girls are concerned, they did not do anything wrong but the reaction to the problem is not up to the mark. But they are young in age, I am sure they will learn. If anyone of them is reading this article. We mostly give wrong reactions to our problems.
